Upriver tree work is big-timber work. Properties around Concrete tend to have larger conifers, steeper ground and longer distances, and we plan every job around that. Call (360) 503-0571 for a free estimate.
Trees we see in Concrete
The upper Skagit grows large Douglas-fir, western red cedar and western hemlock, with bigleaf maple heavy with moss and red alder along the river and creeks. Big conifers next to cabins and homes are the most common call.
Terrain and access
Steep driveways, slopes above and below houses, and remote access all affect how a tree comes down and how debris gets out. Since this is a longer drive from Burlington, we’ll be upfront about travel when we schedule and price the job.
Wind, snow and storms
Heavy wet snow and freezing rain hit harder upriver than in the valley, snapping tops and loading limbs until they break. Winter storms also bring down trees across long driveways and roads.

Permits and regulated trees
Properties along the Skagit and Baker rivers fall within shoreline jurisdiction, and part of the Skagit River here is a federally designated Wild and Scenic River corridor. Steep slopes and streams are common critical areas. Inside town limits check with the Town of Concrete; elsewhere check with Skagit County Planning & Development Services. Larger clearing or timber sales may need a DNR Forest Practices Application.
Frequently asked questions
Do you come all the way up to Concrete and Marblemount?
Yes, the upper Skagit is in our service area. Because of the drive, we try to plan upriver jobs efficiently. Ask about lining up several trees or properties in one trip.
Snow broke the top out of a big fir near my cabin. Is the rest of the tree safe?
Not always. A broken top can leave a hanging piece and a wound that lets decay in. If it’s over a structure, driveway or road, have it looked at soon. Call (360) 503-0571.
Can you clear a building site in timber up here?
Yes. We can fell, process and haul the timber, deal with stumps, and prep the site. If timber will be sold or the land is being converted from forest, a DNR permit may be needed first.
